Sgt Pep: HX Stomp Bass Preset

Inspired by Paul McCartney’s iconic tone from the Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band sessions.

This preset recreates the warm, rounded sound of McCartney’s Rickenbacker and Hofner recordings through vintage tube gear and distant miking techniques used at Abbey Road.

Signal Path:

• Deluxe Comp at the front for that smooth, tape-like sustain.
• Split A/B paths:
  • Path A (DI): Clean DI line for clarity and note definition.
  • Path B (Amp): Bassman amp model paired with a 2x15 cab and a 47 mic (to emulate the vintage C12 used in the studio).
• Ambience block on Path B to recreate the sound of a mic placed ~5 ft from the cab in Studio 2.
• Both paths merge into a Retro Reel block for authentic tape compression and subtle saturation.

Tone Notes:
Punchy lows, soft upper mids, and a slightly compressed transient for that unmistakable Beatles warmth. Perfect for melodic basslines and vintage-inspired pop tones.
